Accoya, because they're painted and they live outdoors. It barely moves or rots, holds paint far longer than ordinary softwood, and carries its maker's warranty against rot and decay for 50 years above ground.
Can you match the windows in an older house?+
Yes. We make them to the opening rather than to a standard size, so the proportions match what's already there. In a conservation area it matters more again, because uPVC is usually refused and the replacement has to be timber.
Do they come painted?+
Yes. Windows are sprayed in the workshop in whatever colour you choose, and arrive finished, so there's no decorator to sort for them.
How long does a window job take?+
It scales with the number. A whole house of twenty-odd windows runs to around two months; a handful is a much shorter job. We'll put the timescale in your written proposal once we've seen what's involved.
What will a window job cost?+
It depends on the size, the number and the detail, so there's no single price. Send a few photos and rough measurements and we'll come back with a budget range before anyone visits.
