Your project proposal
Not a number read out over the phone. A written proposal setting out what's included, the materials and finishes, the cost, and the payment terms: 50% to book your slot, the balance on completion. Nothing in between.

Manufacture & preparation
Once you've approved the proposal and paid the deposit, your project goes into the schedule with a confirmed installation date. We'll keep you posted while it's being made.

Installation & handover
We turn up when we said we would, and keep the mess and disruption to a minimum while we protect the floors and the room. When it's finished, we walk round it together and make sure you're happy.

Do you charge for an estimate?
No, estimates are free. Send enough detail and you'll have a budget range within three to five days, before we've been out to measure.
What's the payment schedule?
50% to book your slot, and the balance on completion. No stage payments in between.
Do you make the doors, or supply them?
Either. For internal, front and external doors we can make one from scratch to fit the opening, or hang and ease one you've already chosen. Windows are always made.
What timber do you use for painted work?
Accoya for anything painted outdoors: windows, doors and gates. It's a modified timber that barely moves or rots, so paint lasts far longer on it than on ordinary softwood. Where you want the grain on show instead, it's oak and other hardwoods.
Who paints it?
We spray-finish windows, front doors and gates ourselves. Staircases, panelling and internal doors are left ready for your own decorator. Fitted furniture is your choice: sprayed by us, or left for the decorator.
How long will it take?
It depends on the job, and the spread is wide: a staircase is typically around two weeks, where a whole house of twenty-odd windows is nearer two months. That's why we won't put a date on yours until we've seen it. Your written proposal carries the timescale, and you'll have it before you book.
How quickly will you get back to me?
The same day. You won't be left wondering whether the message arrived.
What's guaranteed, and for how long?
Two separate things, so we'll keep them separate. Our workmanship (the fitting and the installation) is covered for a year. The timber carries its own manufacturer's warranty: Accoya, which we build painted outdoor joinery from, is warranted against rot and decay for 50 years above ground, or 25 years for anything set into the ground. Neither covers normal wear and tear, the weathering of a paint or oil finish, or damage from missed maintenance and harsh cleaning. None of this affects your statutory rights.
